The consultant behind Science Homeroom Educational Services LLC is Dave Shellhaas. He brings years of classroom experience and curriculum development to help you meet your individual needs in teaching science as well as other subjects. Dave is also a National Board certified teacher in Adolescent/Young Adult Science and has served on the Science Standards Writing Team which developed Ohio's new academic content standards in science. This expertise has been used to develop some dynamic science instructional resources as well as informative professional development workshops to help teachers at all grade levels increase their effectiveness in the science classroom. He has also shared his knowledge of the curriculum mapping process with several districts to facilitate the schools' mapping progress.

One day institutes can also be arranged, however Science Homeroom Educational Services LLC suggests these one day training sessions are followed-up by on-going support and training for the teachers who attended. Model Classroom Lessons in Science
Science Homeroom Educational Services LLC can provide model science lessons which address the state standards for K-6 classrooms. The lessons are model standards-based science lessons, not just fun science demonstrations where students just sit and watch. These lessons will incorporate inquiry and process skills as well as higher level thinking. We feel it can be very powerful for teachers, who may not feel comfortable teaching science, to see a standards-based lesson taught in their classroom.
